Situated in the Lower North Shore of Sydney, near to the North Sydney train station, Taronga Zoo is one of Sydney's most popular attractions for children and families. Covering more than 30 hectares / 75 acres, Sydney's Taronga Zoo is a short ferry ride from the Circular Quay and offers one of the most magnificent locations of any zoo in the world.
Taronga Zoo has an immense number of animals all housed in large, landscaped enclosures. Highlights at Taronga Zoo include over 2,000 endangered creatures, kangaroos, koalas, a platypus habitat, performing seals, Sumatran tigers, red pandas, orang-utans, snow leopards, Asian elephants, exotic birds, breathtaking views of the waterfront, and an unusual 'roar and snore' sleep-over programme.
